Best Toys for 4 to 5-Year-Olds

It’s hard to believe that we will have 5-year-olds this week! The past year has been one of my favorites to date. They are fun, quick to laugh,  joyful, and such a delight as they learn about the world around them. By far, their most favorite thing is each other! Plus a few more of the items I detailed below. Oh, how we love them so.

Melissa & Doug Easel – This is great for any budding artists! We like to leave these out at our dining room table to use while I prep dinner.

EZ Roller – We personally love gifting anything that can be done outdoors and the EZ roller is a fun one.

Magna Tiles – A tried and true favorite from the time they were two years old. A MUST-HAVE!

Ice Cream Cart – Although I always hesitate to recommend something large and musical, ha, this ice cream cart still gets a ton of use daily. It was on Molly’s Christmas list because she said it was her favorite toy at school.

Digital Camera – They are obsessed with this camera & have been for quite a while!

Calico Critters sets – These adorable animal sets come in all shapes and sizes and are super high quality. We have a bunny family and a hedgehog family. They also make a great collection that can be added to overtime for special occasions.

Marker set & Sketch pad for drawing – If your littles is an artist, I would highly recommend this set of markers. It comes in a wide range of colors. Gift it with a nice drawing pad!

Legos – We graduated this year from the Duplos to the real Legos. Such a fun stage! My kids spend hours creating “monsters” and little lego lands. Now I need to figure out a storage and organization system for all of the tiny parts.

Hatch – This sound machine & nightlight combo is a game-changer. It’s more a gift for the parents involved but is great nonetheless. I love that I can customize the light, sound, and timer features from my phone.
