It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is right around the corner. Which is hard to believe because I swear Thanksgiving was yesterday, wasn’t it?! Each year one of my favorite traditions is getting our holiday decorations down from the attic and taking out the children’s Christmas books. I store all of our books away to make it extra special for the kids when the red and green storage boxes come out. We have accumulated quite the collection over the years with a mix of classics and some fun age-specific ones like Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas which Molly is very into this year. They also make great gifts for nieces and nephews or sweet friends so if any of you need last-minute Prime gift ideas, I’ve got you covered! And one last tip: I always try to get a few on sale after Christmas each year and stash them in the attic so there is some fresh material each year. So without further ado, here are a few of our favorites:
Jolly Christmas Postman comes with little letters and puzzles and is such a sweet, interactive book. This one is a classic!
If anyone else has children that love the I Spy series, 1001 Things to Spot at Christmas would be great to take for holiday travel. My kids could spend hours going through this one.
We love the Little Blue Truck series and the Little Blue Truck’s Christmas has a fun light-up Christmas tree at the end which my kids obviously love.
If you are looking for another interactive book, The Story Orchestra: The Nutcracker plays the music from the ballet. We went this year and the music is so beautiful.
We have been reading Disney’s Countdown to Christmas every night before bed. It has one Disney themed story for each night in December and my kids have been really looking forward to it.
